Katie Maloney disclosed how Lala Kent and Scheana Shay faked it on Vanderpump Rules.
During an appearance on the Boyfriend Material podcast, the Something About Her owner exposed her former friends/co-stars avoided authenticity on camera.
***Please note Katie NEVER named Lala or Scheana in these statements. This is pure speculation on my part, but she didn’t NEED to say their names. You’ll see …***
Lala:
Katie accused Lauren from Utah of putting on a front when cameras rolled. “Some people were definitely trying to self-produce.”
“That would be really frustrating. Like, ‘Why are you acting this way?’ Those times would get frustrating because you’re just trying to be as authentically yourself as possible.”
Katie continued, “When you see someone trying on a new personality, you’re like.” The podcast host, Harry Jowsey, was confused. “People try on new personalities?!?!”
“Uh huh,” replied Katie. They think they can sway the audience’s opinion. You are just so f*cked if you think you can predict how an audience is going to think or feel. But, they would think that. They would be like, ‘I’m going to be this; I want to be more like this,’ because they want to appeal to people.”
“But,” Katie declared, “it never works. It blows up in people’s face. Every single time.”
Scheana:
Katie explained how “most” of the former Vanderpump Rules cast was “good” about not trying to manipulate the narrative.
“You don’t want to hear something twice. Your first reaction to something is going to be way more fascinating than having to fake it.”
“There’s one girl that really made a habit of that. We’d be filming and we’d be talking about her boyfriend or husband at the time. She’s texting him and telling him what’s happening.”
“This is a very strange and specific thing we are doing here.” So, “That was always frustrating,” explained Katie. “Why would you do that?!”
“If you are going to do that, you better do it very low-key.”
