Former Hallmark star Cameron Mathison lost nearly everything he owned in the recent wildfire in Pacific Palisades, California. He has shared his heartbreak in some social media posts. In his latest Instagram post, Mathison chose to focus on the positives.


Cameron Mathison Says Gratitude Is Essential

On January 18, Mathison shared a new video on his Instagram page. In the caption, he explained that in his video, he shared “Some strategies that have been effective for me to protect my mind from all the fear, anger, sadness, anxiety, and stress during this difficult time.

Mathison noted he focuses on gratitude, compassion, and patient acceptance. “Gratitude is such a powerful practice,” he wrote.

“Compassion is one of the most beautiful things that we can bring to the world,” he added. Mathison also noted that in terms of patient acceptance, “Deeply accepting something that’s happening allows us to move on and be much more solution oriented, and not dwell on the problem.”

The “Hannah Swensen Mysteries” alum admitted, “I’m not saying I’m perfect with these practices right now … believe me. But they have truly brought me more peace and hope.”

In the video, Mathison explained, “I just wanted to put out something a little positive, my recent posts have been a little heavy for obvious reasons, but I want to talk about strategies I’m trying to apply to stay positive and peaceful.”


The Family Nearly Everything in the Fire

The actor’s video highlighting Mathison’s strategies for finding positivity amid the devastation of losing his home resonated with his followers.

Mathison’s friend and former “All My Children” co-star Rebecca Budig wrote, “You will always be my Buddha. Grateful you have the practice you have worked so hard on for so many years. You are very strong Cammy.”

One of Mathison’s supporters wrote, “You are so strong, Cam!! Thank you for sharing during this tough time!! Being grateful and thinking about others helps me a lot too! I’m here for you! Take care, Cam and hope to see you back on Cameo sometime in the future! ❤️❤️🙏🏼”

“Beautiful mantras. It’s the only way to get through these times,” read another supporter’s comment.

Someone else commented, “And…. a smile… 🙏💕so good to see… 😘”

On January 17, Mathison posted a devastating video on his Instagram page. It was a compilation of Mathison’s home with photos from before the fire and pictures of those same areas now.
