Cardi B Threatens Prank Caller Who Falsely Reported Her To CPS

Cardi B just sent a furious message to a prank caller who had Child Protective Services sent to her house, warning that there will be consequences for the terrifying stunt.

The rapper, born Belcalis Almánzar, was beyond angry when she turned to Instagram Live to call out a malicious prankster who told authorities that her three children were in danger, prompting CPS to make a visit to her home.

“So I wanna make this very fucking clear, and I can’t even breathe right now,” Cardi told viewers during the Monday livestream. “Motherfuckers have taken shit too fucking far when you mess with my fucking kids.”

It was not clear when the CPS incident took place. The rapper recorded her message from a hospital, where she’s been receiving treatment for unspecified reasons since Saturday.

“For the Child Protective Services to come to my fucking house?” Cardi told viewers. “Not my house ― my gated mansion at 11 p.m. while my childrens are sleeping, because there’s an anonymous call... that my kids have been getting abused and beaten. Are you fucking dumb?”

The Grammy winner, who last month welcomed a baby girl with her estranged husband, the rapper Offset, went on to threaten legal action against both the lying caller and CPS.

“This is when the pranks start getting too far. When you fucking assholes think that shit is funny, and it’s not funny,” she said, noting that she and her family are the only “colored people” in the neighborhood.

“For motherfuckers to pop up in my house with cops and Child Protective Services because you motherfuckers wanna do an anonymous call involving my children,” Cardi said, visibly fuming. “I promise you this, I’m gonna sue Child Protective Services for fucking coming to my house at whatever the fuck time it comes. And I’m also going to sue the person that did this anonymous call.”

The “Up” rapper told viewers she intends to hire a private investigator to find out who made the call.

“We don’t play that shit. My kids live great,” she said. “My kids have never been touched, never gotten hit, no matter how annoying they are. I never hit my kids.”

Cardi also threatened the caller, saying: “If you’re a boy, my baby father is gonna beat you the fuck up. If you’re a woman, me and [sister] Hennessy [Carolina] are gonna beat you the fuck up, because you playing with my motherfucking kids.”

“Not everything is a fucking joke,” she added. “Not everything is a fucking prank.”

It was not clear where the incident took place, or which CPS office was involved. Cardi B’s lawyers did not immediately respond to HuffPost’s request for comment.

This isn’t the first time the musician has had to deal with authorities baselessly being sent to her home. Last August, police visited her and Offset’s Georgia residence after an anonymous person reported a shooting at the address.

Cardi is far from the first star whom strangers have falsely reported to law enforcement or government agencies.

Celebrities like Rihanna, Jennifer Aniston, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus and more have all fallen victim to “swatting,” a dangerous prank where people are targeted by false emergency reports, often prompting SWAT teams or other law enforcement personnel to visit their homes.

This form of harassment isn’t only directed at entertainers. Court records released in August revealed how a pair of European men had targeted a former U.S. president and several members of Congress with false allegations.
