Former Countdown presenter Carol Vorderman has celebrated her 64th birthday as she shared a message with her fans.

Carol Vorderman has shared an emotional message as she celebrated her birthday, following a cancer scare. The former Countdown star announced that she had turned 64 years old.
Taking to Instagram, she shared a post, which read: "I'm 64 today.....whaaaattttttttttt. Years ago the Beatles sang "when I'm 64" as though that was old...
"I'm here to tell you it ain't... OMG I feel like the best part is only just beginning." Carol also attached a video to the post, where she spoke into the camera as she walked along a street with a fluffy hood around her head.
In it, she said the same as what was in the caption as she looked delighted with an animated face. Fans and famous friends flooded the comments with well wishes for her special day.
Gillian McKeith commented, saying: "Happy birthday to you!!! Have the best celebration. Make fabulous memories which I know you will."
TV doctor Amir Khan added: "Happy birthday you gorgeous woman!" Meanwhile, a fan posted: "Happy birthday Carol xxx Let's hope you have a great Christmas and a brilliant 2025. Thanks for all your posts this year and also for all your hard work."
The update comes as the TV presenter recently opened up about the cancer scare she had after enjoying "many merry years" of sunbathing. She candidly admitted that she was part of a generation that embraced sunbathing without understanding the risks involved.
Speaking about it, she said: "Oh God, yes. I was burning away merrily for many, many years. I'm of the generation where we started to sunbathe - my mother's generation didn't.

"We were also caught in the formative years, the 60s, 70s, 80s, where we had absolutely no idea of what sun protection was - you just couldn't buy it. I think it was the 90s that began."
After observing changes in her skin, she consulted a dermatologist who conducted a biopsy. She admitted that hearing the C word was "frightening".
She revealed that the test results revealed precancerous cells, despite Carol having no symptoms. Following the removal of the cells, the presenter now undergoes an annual check-up and highlights the importance of using sun cream.
Carol explained: "In many ways, the damage is already done, but I don't sunbathe now, I cover myself up."
