Celebrities forced to evacuate by Los Angeles wildfires; 'So gutted by the destruction and loss'

Wildfires have been ravaging Los Angeles, with thousands of people evacuated and experts estimating millions of dollars lost in damages. It's the second day in a row that the fires have grown, affecting more and more areas in the east and the west of Los Angeles County. Winds have reached hurricane speeds, making the fires even more dangerous and unmanageable. 

Among the people who have been forced to evacuate and have been afflicted by the fires are many celebrities. The fires have affected the Pacific Palisades among other areas, neighborhoods known for their celebrity homes, with many of these buildings being destroyed or at risk.

Mark Hamill

Mark Hamill shared a post on Instagram, revealing that he and his family were forced to evacuate their home fast. "Evacuated Malibu so last minute there were small fires on both sides of the road as we approached PCH," read his post. "there “were” small fires* ^ (gimme a break- we were fleeing for our lives) Stay Safe Everyone," he captioned the post.

Mandy Moore revealed on Instagram that she managed to evacuate her home alongside her husband, kids, and pets. She shared that she stayed at the home of some friends, who provided her and her family with a place to stay safe. 

"Trying to shield the kids from the immense sadness and worry I feel," she wrote in an Instagram story showing herself and her son. "Praying for everyone in our beautiful city." 

"So gutted for the destruction and loss. Don't know if our place made it."

Travis Barker's daughter, Alabama Luella Barker, shared a story on her Instagram, revealing that her home was evacuated. 

"Just evacuated from my home due to wildfires in Los Angeles, please be safe!" she wrote. "They are saying the fires are spreading football field amounts in seconds."

Her older brother, Landon Barker, also evacuated his home. "Just evacuated praying for everyone the fires have effected," he wrote in an Instagram story.

According to TMZ, Ben Affleck was forced to evacuate his home earlier today. The outlet reported that Affleck rushed to Jennifer Garner's home, where she lives with their two kids Fin and Samuel after Violet left for college last year. 

Leonardo DiCaprio's former home was destroyed

A home once owned by Leonardo DiCaprio was destroyed by the wildfires. Located on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, the home was sold in 2021 for over $10 million dollars, with DiCaprio owning it for over two decades. 

Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag

Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag shared in Instagram posts that their home was destroyed by the fires. Pratt shared a photo of his son's room, captured on his baby monitor camera. 

"The one positive sign i saw as our house burned down was ours sons bed burned in the shape of a heart," he captioned the post. "A sign of how much love was in this house so thankful for all the years and memories there with our family."

Jaime Camil's brother

Jaime Camil called attention to the fires by revealing his personal connection to the tragedy. "The fires and strong winds are truly serious, my thoughts are with everyone affected," he wrote on a note shared on Instagram.

"My brother and many dear friends have had to evacuate and I'm deeply concerned for their safety. Please, take care of yourselves and stay safe out there. My heart goes out to all of you during this difficult time."

Jamie Lee Curtis

Jaimie Lee Curtis shared a story on Instagram calling attention to the fires. In the caption, she revealed that she and her family were safe. She also asked her followers to monitor their posts and to ensure they shared truthful information on social media. 

"Take care of each other. Stay out of the way and let the firefighters do their work. Pray if you believe in it and even if you don't, pray for those who do," she concluded her post.
