Major stars have reacted to devastating wildfires in the Pacific Palisades and some directly affected have spoken out about their ordeal.
From NBA star LeBron James to reality TV royalty such as Paris Hilton and Heidi Montag, they have taken to social media to speak out about the disaster affecting the Los Angeles neighborhood.
There are multiple active wildfires in the Los Angeles area, which started on Tuesday and led to the rapid evacuation of thousands of people in Southern California. These include the Palisades fire in Pacific Palisades, the Hurst fire in San Fernando Valley and the Eaton fire near Altadena.
Around 49,000 Pacific Palisades residents have been told to evacuate, including many celebrities, and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has declared a state of emergency.
Actor James Woods said it was like "losing a loved one" after evacuating his home.
The Once Upon a Time in America actor shared the devastating news on X, formerly Twitter.
"I couldn't believe our lovely little home in the hills held on this long. It feels like losing a loved one," he wrote.
Woods, who regularly updates fans, posted a video, writing: "I took this last night from our beautiful little home in the Palisades. Now all the fire alarms are going off at once remotely. It tests your soul, losing everything at once, I must say."
Reality TV stars and married couple Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt lost their home on Tuesday, which they announced on Snapchat.
"Well, this isn't looking good," Pratt said in a video showing the fire approaching their home. "First time I've seen the flames coming over. Aw, man. OK, I'm going to go pack up, I think."
Later on, Montag posted a video from a grocery store confirming their house was destroyed, per Fox News.
Other celebrities to be evacuated from their homes include Star Wars actor Mark Hamill and Schitt's Creek star Eugene Levy.
Hamill wrote on Instagram that the wildfires were the "most horrific fire since '93," referring to blazes in nearby Malibu that destroyed 18,000 acres of land and 323 homes.
Levy spoke to local media about his ordeal.
"The smoke looked pretty black and intense over Temescal Canyon. I couldn't see any flames but the smoke was very dark," he told the Los Angeles Times.
Mandy Moore, singer and actress in TV drama This Is Us, also had to flee her house and updated fans with her status on Tuesday.
"Evacuated safe with kids, dogs and cats. Praying and grateful for first responders," she wrote on her Instagram Stories.
For those celebrities not in the area, many sent well wishes to people living there and the emergency services dealing with the catastrophe.
"Praying for LA/California right nowđ„șđ," wrote Hilton on X, formerly Twitter.
LA Lakers player James also posted on X writing, "Praying for everyone in Southern California!! ! đđŸđđŸđđŸđđŸ."
Avengers actor Chris Pratt posted a lengthy message thanking emergency services.
"Please send prayers and strength tonight to everyone in Los Angeles affected by these devastating fires," he wrote on X. "Los Angeles is in a state of emergency and over 30,000 have been ordered to evacuate.
"Thank you to the brave firefighters and first responders who are working tirelessly to protect lives, homes, and wildlife as they battle fast-moving wildfires fueled by fierce winds. You are true heroes, and we are endlessly grateful for your sacrifice and courage.
"Let's all come together to support one another during this tough time. â€ïž #ThankYouFirstResponders."
Many celebrities posted Instagram Stories to express shock and send prayers to those affected, as reported in the Hindustan Times.
Model Hailey Bieber wrote: "Praying everyone is safe."
While singer Billie Eilish posted that the fires were "sooo scary and devastating," and recent Golden Globe winner Zoe Saldana shared her "sympathies with all those affected by the devastating fires in Southern California, particularly those who have lost their homes."
Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco wrote, "This is heart wrenching to witness what's happening in our backyard," while High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens also reacted by posting, "My heart breaks for everyone affected."
