Garden Rescue’s Charlie Dimmock has admitted she has a “love-hate” relationship with her TV career and “doesn’t know” if she will continue. The presenter’s revelation comes almost three decades since she made her debut alongside Alan Titchmarsh and Tommy Walsh on BBC’s Ground Force.
The 58-year-old reunited with Alan on his Love Your Weekend show and gave a rare interview about her career.
Alan, 75, told her: “What I admired about you was that you were so philosophical about television. It was not the be-all and end all of your life, you knew it would be transitory, you thought it would be but you were wrong."
Charlie replied: "We are gardeners. We are basically down to earth, aren't we? It is what it is and you've got to carry on."
Alan then asked: "Do you want to carry on? Do you enjoy it?"

Charlie confessed: “Yes and no. I don't know. I do love it but I hate it at the same time...It gets in the way of different things and stuff like that."
The presenter previously took a lengthy break from the spotlight after suffering an awful family tragedy.
She was off-screen for 11 years following the loss of her mother, Sue, and stepfather, Rob, in the 2004 tsunami disaster in Thailand.
Charlie remained silent as she took time to grieve, but her representative issued a statement saying: "It is very upsetting for her. It has been too soon for her to come to terms with it."

Her father Terry, in an emotional interview with the Evening Standard while his former wife and her partner were missing, revealed: "She is not coping well as you would expect from someone who fears they have lost their mother."
He added: "Charlie is worried sick. We have not heard any news at all about Sue and Rob."
A friend also said: “She has been told Sue and Rob are missing, feared dead. She is desperately waiting for news and is inconsolable. She is being comforted by friends."
Following the death of Sue and Rob, Charlie turned down work for several years but marked her televised return in 2016 by joining the cast of Garden Rescue, and now she is a regular face on the programme.
Garden Rescue airs Sunday at 5.15pm on BBC One.
