ChatGPT app makes debut for Windows; Advanced feature not yet here

OpenAI has finally launched the ChatGPT application for Windows. The app is an early version product now can be downloaded from the Microsoft Store. Previously, the same application was also launched for Mac. In the official blog post, it has been OpenAI said that the subset of features have not made it to the early version of the app. However, the features will be available for future updates of the app for the general audience. That being said, the application allows the users to interact with ChatGPT while they manage other tasks on their system.

ChatGPT for Windows of course lacks a few functionalities at this point in time advanced voice and standard modes along with the Integration for Microsoft OneDrive and Google Drive. As of now, users can upload their files and photos on ChatGPT and use the o1 model for the analysis. As of now, the application is available only to the paid subscribers of the Plus, Team, Edu, and, Enterprise tier subscribers. Expectations are that OpenAI will expand the usage of the application for free tiers in upcoming quarters.

ChatGPT application for Windows needs at least Windows 10 operating system (x64 and arm64) version 17763.0 or higher and it is designed to smoothly integrate the computing environments of the users. This will surely make AI a highly accessible tool for day-to-day tasks. Furthermore, the Windows application of ChatGPT brings multiple features straight from the web application. Only the advanced modes of the same will not be available for the same.

Another major highlight from the same is that Edu and Enterprise users’ content uploaded through the API or ChatGPT will not be used for model performance improvement until and unless the customer has allowed the same to the company through the permissions.
