ChatGPT, the popular AI chatbot developed by OpenAI, is currently offline due to a technical glitch. This outage is impacting millions of users worldwide and has also disrupted OpenAI's API and other services.
Downdetector, a website that tracks online service outages, has seen a surge in complaints about ChatGPT, with over 1,000 reports submitted. Users are venting their frustration on social media, reporting difficulties logging in and experiencing slow performance.
One user on Downdetector wrote, "ChatGPT please fix it all our history is in your hand we need our history back," highlighting the potential reliance some users have placed on the platform. Another user on X (formerly Twitter) expressed concern, stating, "Second brain just stopped working! ChatGPT is down! #chatgptdown."
The frustration is palpable on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), where users are venting their experiences. Some tweets highlight the growing dependence on ChatGPT, with one user stating, "ChatGPT is down. Not sure what to do now..." Another injects a touch of humor, tweeting, "ChatGPT is down and I'm starting to think the robots are staging a coup."
The impact extends beyond individual users. Businesses that rely on OpenAI's API for their projects are also facing disruptions to their services, demonstrating the wider reach of this outage.
This isn't the first time ChatGPT has gone offline. In fact, this marks the third major outage since December, raising questions about the platform's infrastructure reliability. OpenAI has not yet provided an estimated timeframe for when ChatGPT service will be restored.
