Chinese New Year, also known as Lunar New Year, begins on the first new moon of the lunar calendar and ends on the first full moon 15 days later.

The year from February 10, 2024, to January 28, 2025, is the Year of the Wood Dragon, but this doesn't mean the Dragon animal sign benefits from it.

This year has been notoriously unlucky for those born in the Year of the Dragon (1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012, and 2024) while bringing good fortune to other signs, particularly the Ox.

According to Valeria Black, an intuitive Tarot Card Reader, spiritual guide and astrologer, five animals in the Chinese Zodiac will be "incredibly lucky" in the week of October 21 to October 27.

She said this luck will come "when they align themselves with their inner power".

1. Goat

Those born in Years of the Goat (1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2013) have an "eccentric" luck this week, according to Valeria. She said that those with long hair will benefit the most from this luck.

However, even those without hair are encouraged to prioritize physical well-being, as it is a source of secondary luck. The colours golden and silver, including hair combs or accessories, will also be lucky.

2. Ox

Family, in particular siblings, are the main source of luck this week for those born in Years of the Ox (1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009, and 2021). This includes cousins and extended family, who you consider your siblings, said Valeria.

The indirect success of those close to you may bring luck or present as a slice of wisdom. Either way, it's encouraged to spend time with siblings this week. As for lucky charms, look out for sunflowers and the colour yellow.

3. Horse

Getting creative with others could result in good fortune for people born in Years of the Horse (1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002 and 2014). Focusing on being a better listener may highlight missed opportunities, so pay close attention to everything - even listening to the radio or the news.

Valeria said that seeking the colour red this week will benefit those affiliated with the Horse animal sign.

4. Monkey

Luck won't be as easy to come by for those born in Years of the Monkey, but it will come. "It will test your mettle first. If you prove yourself, you will be graced with gold beyond your wildest imagination. So take a chance on yourself, and don't hold back", urged Valeria.

Courage goes a long way for those born in the Monkey years (1944, 1956, 1968, 1992, 2004, 2016), and purple and blue will be lucky this week.

5. Dog

Swapping what's comfortable for less familiar things will direct people born in the Years of the Dog to their luck this week. Valeria revealed: "When you do this, luck will grace your footsteps and make your path easier. Some of you may also meet mentor figures on this path, although they will not stick around forever, only for the moment."

Those born in Dog Years 1956, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006 and 2018 will feel luck "very strongly" if they travel for work.

As for lucky charms, seek out the colour green, said the astrologer.
