Chris Pratt and wife Katherine Schwarzenegger welcome son and reveal his unique name: 'We are overjoyed'

Chris Pratt and wife Katherine Schwarzenegger have welcomed a new addition!

The couple, who have been married since 2019, announced on Tuesday (Monday in the US) the birth of their son Ford Fitzgerald Schwarzenegger Pratt, who they welcomed on November 8.

The pair shared the joyous news in a joint post on Instagram and said mum and bub are both "doing well".

"We are overjoyed to announce the birth of our son, Ford Fitzgerald Schwarzenegger Pratt," the pair wrote underneath an announcement graphic.

"Mama and baby are doing well and Ford's siblings are thrilled by his arrival.

"We feel so blessed and grateful. Love, Katherine and Chris."

Schwarzenegger's mother Maria Shriver sweetly commented underneath: "He hit the parent jackpot! And of course the grandparent one too lol.... And I'm so over the moon for all of you. Scorpios rule. <3"

Zoe Saldana added: "Biggest Congrats!!!!"

Stylist Rachel Zoe added a series of love hearts underneath, as did Schwarzenegger's brother, Patrick Schwarzenegger.

The couple are yet to share a picture of the newborn.

The name Fitzgerald could be a nod to Katherine's mother Shriver's heritage and family. The journalist is the niece of late President John F. Kennedy, with his full name being John Fitzgerald Kennedy.

This is the pair's third child together, while Pratt is also father to a son he shares with ex-wife Anna Faris. 

The pair recently celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary, with Pratt sharing a sweet tribute to his wife that read: "Happy Anniversary to my honey!"

"Five years has flown by. Thank you so much for the joy, stability and fun you've brought to my life. I thank God for you every day."
