Christina Aguilera admits she's damaged her knee cartilage after wearing heels while performing for years

Christina Aguilera might be at the top of her game as a musician, but there's price she's had to pay for being one of the world's biggest pop stars.

Aguilera, 43, admitted in a new interview that she's done some significant damage to her knees after performing in heels over the years.

The Dirrty singer said during a chat with Raye for Rolling Stone, she said she commends Raye for singing barefoot while performing.

She replied when asked about her best advice for the singer: "I've already f---ed up my legs and my feet so bad with all this high-heel nonsense."

She added: "I f---ed up the cartilage in my knee. I love that about you, though. I never had the balls to just do it. Those are the best when you just feel the floor underneath."

Aguilera rose up the charts and became an international success in the late '90s when she released hit tracks including What a Girl Wants and Genie in a Bottle.

She recently told Glamour about being body-shamed in the early days of her career.

"When you're a teenager, you have a very different body than when you're in your 20s," Aguilera said.

"I started to fill out, and then that was unacceptable because it was like, 'Oh, she's getting thicker.'"

Aguilera said that now as she's gotten older, she couldn't care less what people think of her anymore, saying she doesn't "give a f--k".

"Other people's opinions of me are not my business," she said.
