Back in 2021, Christina Applegate noticed tingling in her toes during the filming of the final season of Dead To Me.
Soon after, she was officially diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, a condition where the immune system attacks the brain and spinal cord, gradually getting worse over time.
Now, three years after her initial diagnosis, Applegate has given a raw look at just how her condition has progressed, saying she'll often find herself "screaming" in pain.
"I lay in bed screaming," Applegate said on the latest episode of her podcast MesSy which she cohosts with Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who also has MS.

On the episode, titled The Beauty of the Invisible Disease, Applegate and Siegler spoke with Rory's Bakehouse owner Rory Kandel about the physical side of their condition.
Kandel, who also suffers from MS, shared that the "hardest part" of the disease for her is "it's manifesting as pain."
"It feels like I have knives in my spine and I can't move," she told the podcast hosts.
"Like, I'll be laying in bed and I wake up and I physically can't turn from side to side."

Christina Applegate up for top honour amid health battle
"It's the worst," Applegate agreed, adding she feels the same way "every single day of my life."
"I can't even pick up my phone sometimes because now it's travelled into my hands," the Married With Children actress added.
"So I'll try to go get my phone or get my remote to turn on the TV or whatever, and I can't. Sometimes I can't even hold them. I can't open bottles now.
"But we look fine because it's the beauty of the Invisible Disease, right?"

Kandel added that people will often tell her she 'looks great' and while it doesn't make her mad, it definitely doesn't feel good.
"I I have like a level, I don't want to say I'm angry because I'm not angry at anyone," she explained.
"But it's so frustrating to look fine"
