Claudia Winkleman opened up about the hilarious moment she got drunk and led a conga through a hotel kitchen after Strictly Come Dancing show.

The Strictly host sat down with Kathy Burke for her When There's A Will There's A Wake and discussed a spontaneous night after a Strictly show in Blackpool. Speaking to Kathy, she said: "We were doing Strictly in Blackpool and for some reason in the audience was Peter Kay, Rick Astley had been performing.

"I want to say Dean Gaffney... Maybe that's just my fantasy. And we ended up getting drunk in the bar at the hotel we always stay at called The Big Blue. I ended up doing the conga through the kitchen using a pizza slice as, almost, a steering aid... But I was using it to steer the conga...

"You can never be grumpy if you have either taken part or during a conga that will mark the end of the wake!" The podcast asks guests questions about their life and death, such as: "How do you want to die?", "Who gets your prized possessions?" and more.

Claudia is currently busy with The Traitors, which returned to screens earlier this month. Although she has a mysterious exterior on the show, the star recently admitted she can’t stop her maternal instincts from breaking through her icy exterior.

“The contestants are like my children, who I’m sometimes incredibly mean to,” she said. “I love them all. I consider them my children and they call me Auntie Claude or even Mummy by the end.” In fact, while Claudia adopts a cold, cool demeanour on screen, she found herself in tears behind the scenes during one particular elimination.

“You don’t see it, thank God, but I really cried when somebody was banished this year,” she explained. “I properly cried — it was probably a bit unhealthy. Two of the contestants came out and the three of us were just crying together.” The host also keeps in contact with the contestants after the show ends.

Claudia said: "I was texting Maddy Smedley from series one the other day. And I sent a message to Charlotte Chilton’s aunt. Matt Harris from series one wanted to show me his new skill — I thought that sounded like code for something else but it was skateboarding. I stay in touch with all of them because I’m so grateful to them for playing, and for playing the way they do. The series three contestants are extraordinary game players.”
