The Nationâs favorite comedy duo Baddiel and Skinner are reuniting for Stand Up To Cancer on Channel 4âs Celebrity Gogglebox.
Baddiel and Skinner are one of the UKâs favorite comedy duos of the nineties and noughties. In the nineties the pair co-hosted Fantasy Football League on BBC two, which launched to fame their iconic anthem football mad people still chant today: Three Lions. In the noughties they moved on to a talk show: Baddiel and Skinner Unplanned. Now the nationâs favorites are back for some more unplanned gold, featuring on Channel 4âs Gogglebox.
Frank and David join Gogglebox
David Baddiel and Frank Skinner are most famous for The Lightening Seeds football anthem Three Lions and are now set to appear on the Friday October 25 episode of Channel 4âs Gogglebox.
The episode is in aid of the Stand Up To Cancer charity.
Frank Skinner told The Sun: âIt is an amazing cause and Dave and me, back on a sofa, seems a better deal than cycling up K2, carrying a fridge to Istanbul or any of that sweaty stuff people do for charity.â

David Baddiel added: âIâm a big fan of Gogglebox, Stand Up To Cancer, and Frank Skinner, so this wasnât a difficult yes.â
âIf we can raise awareness and cash to fight this terrible disease, itâs worth the huge effort of slumping in front of the screen with my old friend,â he continued.
These comedy besties first met backstage at a comedy club in 1990 before cementing their lifelong friendship when they became roomies during the Edinburgh Fringe festival in 1992.
Even now the pair just are just 15 doors away from being able to chill on each otherâs sofas and regularly catch up on shows together. âIâve been watching TV with David Baddiel for about 30 years,â said Frank.
Before he cheekily added: âThe only TV I refused to watch with him was stuff featuring me. He [Baddiel] never laughed enough.â
âI donât usually allow talking when the TV is onâ
This special Celebrity Gogglebox will be available to watch and stream on Channel 4 from 9pm on October 25.
The poster for the show debuts the pair side by side on a dark blue velvet sofa complete with silver cushions. On the table is a spread of snacks to accompany their viewing.
Along with these long time pals, the UKâs tallest comedian, Stephan Merchant and Josh Widdecombe are also set to make an appearance on this weekâs show.
Merchant said: âI donât usually allow talking when the TV is on, because I know how much hard work goes into making shows, so I try to give them my full attention.â
However, this comedian is set to make an exception for charity: âBut Iâm happy to break my own rule for Stand Up to Cancer and join the Gogglebox special this year with my pal Josh Widdicombe. The charity does fantastic work, raising money for life-saving research, and itâs a privilege to be involved.â
Widdicombe added his own enthusiasm, with a quick quip about his palâs lofty heights: âStand Up to Cancer is an incredible cause so I am honoured to be involved. I love Stephen and particularly like working with him when we are sitting down so I donât look like a hobbit next to him.â
