Commanders vs Eagles Expert Predictions for Thursday Night Football Week 11

1 month ago 4

Week 11 of the 2024 NFL season kicks off with a massive divisional showdown between the Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles.

The winner of this matchup will take over first place in the NFC East, and will have the clear path to winning the division, and potentially even the first-round bye in the NFC.

The 7-2 Eagles, winners of five straight games, are home favorites over Washington. But the 7-3 Commanders have been one of the biggest surprises of the 2024 season, and will look to make a statement in primetime.

Matt Levine: The winner of this game will take sole possession of the NFC East, creating a massive game in mid-November. Philadelphia is on a five-game win streak entering this matchup while the Commanders dropped a tough game last week to Pittsburgh. Washington has been the surprise of the season so far but their magic could be fading. Look for the Eagles to protect the home field in this high-scoring affair.

Prediction: Eagles 34, Commanders 30

Noah Camras: The Eagles are one of the hottest teams in football, and are coming off a 34-6 beatdown against the Dallas Cowboys. The Commanders are coming off a narrow loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, and will be looking to make a statement on Thursday night. This game will be high-scoring, and in the end, Jayden Daniels will lead the game-winning drive to get the massive upset and officially cement Washington as a Super Bowl contender.

Prediction: Commanders 30, Eagles 28

Valentina Martinez: If the Commanders lose a second consecutive game to a team over .500, it may be time to consider whether the Commanders' hot streak is over. Philadelphia's defense should get the job done and Jalen Hurts has a number of offensive weapons in his arsenal.

Prediction: Eagles 32, Commanders 27

James Brizuela: The Commanders and Eagles could be a preview for the NFC Championship game. Both teams are powered by dynamic dual-threat quarterbacks that can sling the ball and pick up chunk yardage on the ground. Despite both being nearly equally matched, the Commanders have been able to take down better competition. After a close loss to the Steelers, expect Washington to compete in the same manner as the Eagles. Washington is on the road, but they will pick up a big win here.

Prediction: Commanders 28, Eagles 24

Jeremy Hanna: After a tough loss to the Steelers, the Commanders are ready to come back with a vengeance. That being said, it will be a hard-fought battle against a strong Eagles offense. Still, I think Jayden Daniels will be able to lead the team to a narrow victory if Washington's defense rises to the occasion.

Prediction: Commanders 24, Eagles 21
