Underground house DJ and producer FLETCH has been putting in the hours for over a decade now, and that tireless work has earned the support of everyone from Jamie Jones to Villalobos; praised for his versatility on the decks and eclectic output as a producer.
This year, FLETCH has been busier than ever, with shows ranging from his base in Manchester to London and abroad. After touching down in Amsterdam for the No Art ADE Weekender, he briefly returned to the UK for a late-nighter with REME in Manchester, and there’s already talk of more international dates in the near future. Between all that, he found time to assemble the latest mix for Complex Sessions. Sticking exclusively to his own unreleased productions, it’s the ideal entry point for newcomers and a tantalising look at what's to come. From sunny, melodic groovers to deep, late-night jams, it’s all here (including a Kyle Walker collab).

Tell us a bit about your selections in this mix.
In this mix, I wanted to showcase the different sides to my sound, whether that be more club-oriented vibes or more of the sexy grooves that don’t see the light of day as often. I thought, “Why not do a mix of only my own unreleased productions as I’ve never done one before,” so that’s exactly what this is: 100% FLETCH! Expect a bunch of music never heard before, including some collaborations with Skream, Mason Collective, Kyle Walker and more.
What was the one track you absolutely had to include?
I had to include a personal favourite of mine: “So Fly”, from my next EP, which is coming out on South in 2025. It’s a track that came together in such a weird way but it’s some of the work I’m most proud of to date. Every big DJ has been playing it, too, which surprised me as I didn’t think they would.
Any tracks that narrowly missed the cut?
A fair few narrowly missed out, but I tried to squeeze as many into an hour as I could. The ones that missed out were mostly edits as I wanted to steer more towards originals for this.
What’s the first single or album you ever bought?
The first album I remember buying with my own money was The Offspring Greatest Hits—random choice, I know. I think I was around 6 or 7 years old when I saw it in a shop; I bought the CD because I liked the flaming skull on the front. I was already really into that kind of music and had started playing guitar a year or so before, but that CD opened up a whole new world to me.
What’s the last physical record you bought?
The last physical record I bought was in preparation for a vinyl set in Manchester a few weeks ago: it’s called The Monstreaux EP and it’s by VisionQuest. Absolute tunes on that one!
What do you want to see happen musically over the next 12 months?
I would love to see more club-focused music getting released with more EPs, too! I feel like a lot of dance/house music at the moment is being made for streaming sites rather than for dancefloors, which has led to more singles and fewer EPs being released. As a DJ, a lot of my favourite tracks to play are forgotten B-sides, which very few people know. I would love more of those hidden gems.
What trend or scene needs to die right now?
I think there are a few, honestly, but the main one I’ve seen a lot of is lineups that don’t make sense. I know this isn’t a trend, as such, but I’ve just noticed it more and more recently. You have people that play 135bpm electro/trance-style house playing before DJs that rarely push 128bpm, just because the latter is a ‘bigger DJ’. In my eyes, it just doesn’t flow well for the crowd or the other people DJing.
