Soap star Colson Smith has lost an incredible ten stone over the past few years, but says that he had to overcome some very unhealthy habits and mindset around food.

He began losing weight during the Covid-19 pandemic, when he had time to focus on his eating and exercise.

The Coronation Street and Celebrity Big Brother star made the decision to get a handle on his health after going through a very negative relationship with food.

“I had to, I was on dodgy grounds,” the 26-year-old told his followers on TikTok.

“I didn’t realise how big I was, and I don’t think you do. But I was like 24 stone before Covid. I was so unhealthy,” he said.

“I had this relationship with food where I would do this restrictive eating cycle. I would eat sh*t loads of food and hate myself for it so I would then punish myself by not eating.”

“Then I would get so hungry and emotional about how I hadn’t eaten that I would then go and binge again.”

“In the space of a year, I literally dropped from 138kg to 84kg,” he said.

Colson has been open about his binge and restrict mindset previously, speaking to Sharon Osbourne in the Celebrity Big Brother house about it.

He said: "I lost weight when I was 18 through quite a strict diet and what I found was that I was gaining weight and then I’d try and diet again."

"I wouldn’t eat for a day and a half I would just starve myself, and then I’d be that hungry."

He continued: "I used to drive to KFC and I used to order three meals and then I would hate myself so I wouldn’t eat again for a day and a half and it would be that for months and months and months."
