Dale Earnhardt Jr's JR Motorsports Confirms 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series Crew Chief Changes

2 hours ago 7

JR Motorsports has recently shared its lineup of crew chiefs for the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series.

JR Motorsports has a remarkable legacy in the racing world. It was established by Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kelley Earnhardt Miller, and Rick Hendrick in 2002, and has since been an iconic presence in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

The team has earned over 90 victories, four championships, 35 poles, and over 1,579 top-10 finishes throughout its history.

As part of the new crew lineup, Cory Shea assumes the role of crew chief for the No. 9 Chevrolet Camaro. This entry, the "all-star" entry, features top-tier drivers like Ross Chastain and Shane van Gisbergen for select events, with nine combined entries expected.

Shea steps into this role following his tenure as the car chief for Justin Allgaier and the No. 7 JRM team, who were 2024 Xfinity Series champions. His experience with a championship-winning team sets high expectations for the "all-star" entry he now leads.

Jim Pohlman remains at the helm of the No. 7 Chevrolet alongside driver Justin Allgaier. Pohlman, who joined JRM in 2023, led the team to great success last year.

Phillip Bell retains his role as the crew chief for the No. 8 Chevrolet Camaro, and Sammy Smith will be the driver behind the wheel. Previously with the No. 9 team, Bell secured his first crew chief win at Talladega Superspeedway with Smith.

His time with the team has been promising, having achieved one win, two poles, three top-five, and nine top-10 results in his full-time tenure as a crew chief.

Andrew Overstreet will join rookie Carson Kvapil, leading the No. 1 Chevrolet.

Overstreet's background includes a victory, two poles, 10 top-five, and 14 top-10 finishes, providing a solid foundation for guiding Kvapil in his debut years.

Mardy Lindley will guide rookie Connor Zilisch in the No. 88 Chevrolet. Lindley moved from the Truck Series to Xfinity in 2023, succeeding with Sam Mayer through four victories and a third-place series standing.

February 15 marks the start of the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series season at Daytona International Speedway.
