Danielle Fishel Just Got Seriously Emotional Over Her “Girl Meets World” Costar Sabrina Carpenter’s Monumental Rise To Fame, And It’s So Sweet

While Sabrina Carpenter is now best known for being a Grammy-nominated singer with a global sold-out arena tour, she first broke into the mainstream as a child actor.

Girl Meets World ran between 2014 and 2017, and in that time, Sabrina and Danielle forged an incredibly close friendship.

Danielle is 18 years Sabrina’s senior, and she called the star “the closest thing I'll ever have to a daughter” in a sweet Instagram post back in 2022.

In fact, Sabrina was one of Danielle’s bridesmaids at her 2018 wedding to Jensen Karp, and when she was pregnant with her and Jensen’s first son, Adler, in 2019, Danielle shared a sweet backstage photo of Sabrina cradling her bump.

She captioned the post: “Baby's first concert was his big sister who will be called Auntie Sabrina.”

The wholesome birthday posts have also been a recurring theme, with Danielle writing on Sabrina’s 20th birthday in 2019: “We met when she was 13 and now, as of 13 minutes ago, she's officially no longer a teen. She's my twenty year old princess, my little bb, one of my best friends, and one of the most genuinely kind, warm, funny, loving souls I've ever known. Can't wait to see what the next decade holds for you.”

Through all of this, Danielle has also been the biggest cheerleader for Sabrina’s music career. Since 2018, Danielle has maintained a tradition of posing in a Target cart while proudly holding up Sabrina’s latest album on its release date.

This started with the star’s third studio album, Singular Act 1, and was still ongoing in August of this year when Sabrina released her chart-topping sixth album Short n’ Sweet

Danielle wrote at the time: “This never gets old. Short 'N Sweet out nowwww! @sabrinacarpenter I will climb into a target cart for you even when I'm 100 years old. Congratulations on sharing this masterpiece with the world! 💙💙💋”

But while Danielle has shown unwavering support for Sabrina since the beginning, it’s fair to say that the latter’s music career didn’t really explode into the mainstream until this year, thanks to her hit songs like “Espresso” and “Please Please Please.”

During Monday’s episode of her podcast, Pod Meets World, Danielle shared a sweet anecdote about Sabrina’s rise to fame — and how she always believed she’d make it to the top.

“If you’ve ever been in the Forum club, which is like the lounge, every time, they make a cake. A big cake with the artist’s face on it,” Danielle explained. “And for 10 years now, a little over 10 years I have known Sabrina, and every time I’ve been to the Forum in those 10 years and I see an artist, I take a picture of their cake.”

Rider also shared some of his memories of working with Sabrina, with the actor reprising his Boy Meets World role of Shawn Hunter in Season 1 of Girl Meets World before going on to become a series regular as well as an occasional director for the show.

I don’t know about you, but I’m obsessed with the Girl Meet’s World cast’s ongoing relationship with Sabrina — let me know what you make of it all in the comments!
