Dave Portnoy says the Democratic party’s “arrogance” and “moral superiority” are what caused Donald Trump to demolish Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.
“He just didn’t win. He won for fun: he won the electoral, he won the popular vote, he got more votes than last time,” Portnoy said of Trump in an Instagram video Wednesday — just hours after Trump was named as the winner.
“Just a total ringing endorsement for the Republicans and Donald Trump and an indictment against the Democrats,” he added.
The Barstool Sports founder, 47, suggested that Trump came out ahead because the Democrats failed to recruit Independent voters.
“The Democrats gave us no choice,” Portnoy asserted. “That was the worst campaign and the pure arrogance and the moral superiority have driven people away. If you say you’re voting for Trump, suddenly you’re a Nazi, you’re Hitler, you’re garbage. Enough. Enough!”
Portnoy went on to say that millions of people had cast their ballots for Trump and that he won “clearly” and “decisively.”
“So when you call us that, you’re calling the majority of the country ‘racists, Hitlers, Nazis,’” Portnoy said. “I don’t think you get the words of what that means.”
Portnoy said that liberals had alienated “all the middle ground people by “acting like you’re better than us, smarter than us,” and noted that it was “frankly insulting our intelligence.”
The “One Bite Pizza Reviews” host claimed that the vice president’s stance on Trump being a threat to democracy as the focus of her campaign was nothing but “fearmongering.”
“It’s garbage,” he said. “Tonight is on the Democrats.”
Portnoy Congratulated Trump on becoming the 47th president of the United States and confirmed that he had voted for him.
“I felt I had no choice but to vote for him because of the campaign that the Democrats ran,” Portnoy said, before addressing the Democratic party by stating, “You’re alienating half of the country. More of it.”
Portnoy had been critical of Harris throughout her campaign and even dubbed her “the worst presidential candidate in the history of American politics.”
