David Beckham is gushing about his wife, Victoria Beckham.

Beckham made the comments on “The Today Show.” He was discussing his wife’s new documentary series scheduled for Netflix, and what he’s hoping people learn about Victoria.

“She’s been working on her brand for the last 18 years,” David said on the January 14 show. “She’s unbelievably hard-working, and no one gets to see that. So I convinced her to let people actually see what she does every day and what goes into her business. She’s a very clever and hard-working lady, so I want people to see that.”

Netflix announced in a statement, “On Aug. 21, Netflix announced the beginning of production on a documentary series following Beckham and her fashion and beauty business.”

The streaming giant added, “With exclusive access to Victoria, her family, and those closest to her, the series explores her time in the global spotlight. Following husband David Beckham’s doc series chronicling his rise to fame as a successful soccer player and pop culture icon, the upcoming doc promises to get up close and personal with the former pop star as she juggles her business and family life.”

It wasn’t a sure thing that Victoria would agree to film the documentary, David Beckham told “Today.”

“Yeah, it wasn’t the most easiest thing to get her to agree to,” he said on the show. He pointed out that Victoria already appeared on a documentary series about him.

“In my opinion, she was the star of mine,” he said on the program. “So I just thought, ‘This is the opportunity.’ “

Victoria Beckham said in a 2024 interview in the Financial Times that she found filming her husband’s documentary “liberating.”

“It was quite liberating,” she told the publication. “I was very mindful that usually, when I did my filming, I would be controlling. But this was very much about David, and so I took the approach of, I’m just going to be very easy‑going here.

“People come up and they’re like, ‘We love the documentary,’” Beckham told the Financial Times.

She also praised her husband in that interview, saying, “It’s unbelievable. I feel so proud of what he’s done. When he went to LA all those years ago, people were ridiculing him. But he went knowing that this was ultimately what he wanted to build; to really make a difference with the MLS. And so to have been part of that journey and look at what he’s achieved… It’s bloody amazing. He actually makes things happen.”
