David Schwimmer hopes he “never” runs into Rod Stewart after admitting that he once “served” the Grammy winner divorce papers.

During his appearance on Monday’s episode of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” the “Friends” alum recalled delivering Stewart the documents to end his marriage while working as a process server during his college days.

“Thank goodness I’ve never run into him since, but I served Rod Stewart. I don’t even know if he knows. I don’t think he knows,” Schwimmer shared.

“I don’t even know if he knows. I don’t think he knows,” Schwimmer said of the incident that took place during his early college days.

Colbert, 60, couldn’t help but poke fun at Schwimmer’s story and replied, “He knows now!”

The late-night talk show host then jokingly advised the 58-year-old to “change [his] locks” because Stewart is “vengeful.”

“You could theoretically run into Rod Stewart sometime! Now he knows to punch you,” Colbert added playfully.

Earlier in the interview, Schwimmer explained that he had “so many banana jobs” before he made it big by portraying Ross Geller on the beloved “Friends” sitcom.

“One summer after my freshman year in college, I was just looking for work, and my mom said, ‘Well, you can be a process server for me,’” the actor recalled. “My mom was a divorce lawyer, and I was the guy who would pop out of the bushes and serve you divorce papers.”

Although the Emmy-nominated star didn’t name which woman Stewart was divorcing at the time, Schwimmer did mention he was around 18 years old at the time of the incident.
