We first met model Anthony Catanzaro, once known as the “Superman of Fitness,” back in 2020. Achieving success as a fitness model, personal trainer, and male stripper, Anthony appeared on the covers of such magazines as Playgirl, Men’s Exercise, and Men’s Fitness.
Sadly, in June of 2015, Anthony was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Not one to quit in the face of adversity and to help raise funds for his treatment, he has put out a book entitled HEAT as well as an annual calendar packed with elegant black and white photos and inspiration. His 2025 calendar is now available on his website, with proceeds going towards his battle with this terrible disease.
We caught up with Anthony to discuss the new calendar and see how he’s doing. Get to know this true Superman who makes it his mission every day to inspire people with his pure power, faith, and positive attitude.
How have you been since we last chatted?
So much has happened since then, with my health, my life, my marriage. Everything has been shaken up like never before. As far as my Parkinson’s goes. I somewhat have it under control. I’ve learned that the best way to fight this disease is not to fight it but instead just let it go and try to find peace within myself. As far as my life goes, my wife, Tina, has now become my official caregiver, and we also decided to leave NYC and buy a house in Sparta, NJ, in 2022. I have been a New Yorker my whole life, so when I moved to Sparta, I had to get used to the clean, fresh air, lol, Something us New Yorkers never get. Moving out here has been the greatest thing for me
What made you decide to release another calendar?
John Falocco and I got together and we wanted to create another calendar, this time entitled Epic which is in black and white along with inspirational sayings written by myself. This calendar is now available for sale.
Do you have a favorite image?
To tell you the truth, I love them all. They are all unique in their own way. They are definitely timeless.
What keeps you motivated?
I am never fully satisfied with how I look or how my performance is. I am probably one of the hardest working guys in this business, I just want to be the best I can possibly be and inspire people to do the same.
Do you have a personal mantra?
You can’t fly like an eagle if you think like a chicken.
What is your biggest tip for people trying to stay in shape?
Like I always said, you have to have a good diet. It should be balanced. If you eat healthy and balanced, you will look and feel healthy and balanced.
How do you handle challenges in your personal life?
We all have challenges in life. Some are easy, and some are very difficult. I have never had it easy in life, and whatever I wanted in life, I had to work extra hard for. I think the most important aspect in life is taking one thing at a time to reach the ultimate goal, which is being happy.
What are your hopes for the future?
For this question, I will let God answer it.
Do you have a message for our readers?
Yes, when I turned 15 years old, I knew I wanted to be this heroic man with muscles who saves the day. To me, that is all I wanted, I would go to school and take out a red towel and wrap it around my neck with a safety pin like superman and jump off the desks lol. You see, even back then I wanted to save the world. I guess not much has changed. So, my message is this, don’t be afraid to be who you want to be, be who you are! Have a great day!
