A dachshund's joy while accompanying his owners on vacation has charmed viewers online.

The miniature dachshund named Dougie was seen in a viral post happily joining Jack Bardsley and his partner Abi on a scenic six-week vacation across the U.K. The post, shared under @dougiesdashcam, shows Bardsley informing Dougie that he'll be accompanying him on the trip, followed by a montage of Dougie enjoying everything from sandy beaches to scenic mountain hikes. The TikTok post has been viewed more than 721,000 times since it was shared to the platform on November 9.

Viewers are able to see Bardsley packing for the trip, telling Dougie to "enjoy your holiday" before adding "you too" and "me too" over a clip of the dog, making it clear that Dougie is coming along with him and Abi. From there, clips capture the dachshund's enthusiasm for the great outdoors: digging in the sand, a typical dachshund behavior, and indulging in ice cream as he relishes his vacation.

"Earlier this year, I really wanted to take Dougie away on holiday to show him more of the world," Bardsley, 30, told Newsweek. "But so many places are not dog-friendly, so I decided to buy a van and convert it myself into a camper van so I could take him around the U.K."

Their six-week adventure was packed with memorable moments that extended beyond just beaches and parks.

"We traveled from the bottom to the top of the U.K. visiting some of the best beaches, doing some of the most scenic walks, and even climbing the three tallest mountains in the U.K.," Bardsley said.

He even documented the trek up these mountains on his TikTok page, where Dougie's adventures have delighted followers.

"I didn't expect so many comments," Bardsley explained. "I hope the video inspires more people to take their dogs on holiday because they deserve it just as much as we do."

Viewers online have shared their amusement and delight at the dachshund's first trip away.

"I like humans who loves their animals," one viewer said.

Another added: "We only get a few summers with them, take them on the vacation."

"Good man for taking this beautiful angel," a different TikTok user said.

"For me, being with Dougie and him being happy is a priority," Bardsley said. "I want to create as many memories as I can with him."
