In case you missed it, the Golden Globes took place on Sunday, and it was a seriously jam-packed night.
And there was one star in particular who was undeniably the belle of the Golden Globes, with 62-year-old Demi Moore leaving viewers emotional when she won her first ever major award for acting after a staggering 45 years in the industry.
But on Monday, a video of Demi soaking in the excitement after she won the award started circulating on social media for all the wrong reasons, with the star being accused of pointedly snubbing Kylie Jenner while chatting with Elle Fanning.
For context, Kylie was at the ceremony with her boyfriend, Timothée Chalamet, and was seated between him and Elle at a table.
In a clip that was quickly shared on TikTok, X, and Reddit, Demi can be seen hugging Elle at the table before launching into an enthusiastic conversation with her.
Kylie is watching the exchange the entire time, and can be heard saying “congrats” to Demi. Notably, at this point in the video, Demi does turn away from the camera and look at Kylie — suggesting that she did acknowledge her well wishes.
She then returns her attention to Elle, and the two women hold hands before Demi makes her way back to her seat. She walks past Kylie, and then puts her hand on Timothée’s shoulder as he repeatedly congratulates her as well.
Despite Demi appearing to respond to Kylie’s “congrats” in the clip, the moment is so fleeting that she was still accused of largely ignoring the 27-year-old reality star.
However, Demi’s daughter Tallulah Willis has leaped to her mom’s defense on Instagram, where she called on critics to give Demi a break.
Sharing a screenshot of a news outlet’s tweet that asked: “Did Demi Moore snub Kylie Jenner? That’s what some are saying after seeing THIS video,” Tallulah wrote: “Hi @ everyone but really press, NIPPING THIS STRAIGHT IN THE BUD.”
Neither Demi or Kylie have publicly acknowledged the discourse, but we’ll keep you posted if they do... In the meantime, you can watch the full clip below — let me know what you make of it in the comments!
