Adding details about the scandalous sexual conduct that led to disgrace and a serious sexual assault charge against actor Kevin Spacey, a new account noted that the guild speculated about his strange habits decades before the situation came to light, according to actor Denzel Washington, who worked with Spacey on a film set.
Washington assured that in Hollywood many people speculated about Spacey's strange sexual habits, before he was accused of this same situation, during his participation in the famous series, 'House of Cards', which suffered a severe blow because of this scandal, when the actor was formally accused of assault and sexual harassment.
On November 19, Esquire magazine published a first-person essay, divided into five parts, written by Denzel Washington, where he revealed some important passages of his life and career, in preparation for the release of the movie Gladiator II.
In one of the texts, he recalled his attendance at the 2000 Oscars, where he was nominated for Best Actor for his performance in 'The Hurricane', precisely when Spacey, 65, won the statuette.
"I'm sure I went home and drank that night. I had to. I don't want to sound like I'm saying, 'Oh, he won my Oscar,' or anything like that. It wasn't like that," wrote Washington, who clarified that he subsequently decided to lead a sober life for the past decade.
And, you know, in the village there was talk of what was going on on that side of the street, and that's something between him and God. I have nothing to do with that. I pray for him. That's something between him and his Creator

In that year, Kevin Spacey won the Oscar for Best Actor for his spectacular role in 'American Beauty' in 1999, his second Academy Award, after winning the 'Best Supporting Actor' award in 1996 for the police thriller 'The Usual Suspects'.
However, 17 years later his career came crashing down when Anthony Rapp publicly accused him of sexual assault. After revealing his case, other people filed charges against him in the following years.
In 2022, a New York jury found Spacey not liable for assault in the Rapp case. The following year, a UK court found him not guilty of nine charges also related to sexual assault, and the initial additional charges in the case were also dropped.
However, the accusations ended his career, as he was blacklisted, even though he has denied all the accusations against him. In fact, new testimonies subsequently emerged against him, collected in documentaries such as 'Spacey Unmasked' by Investigation Discovery.
He also received criticism for coming out as gay in response to Rapp's initial allegations in 2017. He has now said he is struggling to pay his legal bills and that his Baltimore home was being foreclosed on as a result of the criminal proceedings against him and other lawsuits.
