Brooklyn rapper Desiigner has announced that he is expecting a newborn son with his girlfriend, Joyce Bryant.
The exciting news was revealed in a social media post where the “Panda” creator shared a video of a cake that read, “We’re having a …” before revealing the gender of the child. The rapper and Bryant joyfully shared the moment, marking the next chapter in their relationship.
Desiigner and Bryant, a reported public relations specialist, were surrounded by family and friends, who could be heard off camera partaking in the suspense prior to the reveal and the excitement by the couple thereafter.
This announcement comes after a tumultuous period for Desiigner, who has faced legal issues and controversies. In April 2023, he was charged with indecent exposure following an incident on an airplane, in which the rapper was accused of masturbating in public.
He would later admit himself into a mental facility and attribute the incident to the effects of medication he had been prescribed.
“For the past few months I have not been ok,” he said at the time while apologizing for the embarassing act. “And I have been struggling to come to terms with what is going on. While overseas for a concert I performed at, I had to be admitted in to a hospital, I was not thinking clearly.”
He continued, adding, “They gave me meds, and I had to hop on a plane home. I am ashamed of my actions that happened on that plane. I landed back to the states, and am admitting my self in a facility to help me. I will be cancelling all of my shows and my obligations until further notice. Mental health is real guys, please pray for me. If [you’re] not feeling like yourself, please get help.”
Additionally, in September, the rapper responded to 50 Cent’s comments about a potential G-Unit signing going awry with a diss track, adding fuel to the fire of ongoing tensions.
Despite the challenges, Desiigner and Bryant’s pregnancy reveal has brought a moment of positivity for the artist, who is now focused on preparing for fatherhood. Fans and followers have congratulated the couple on their growing family as they look ahead to this new chapter.
