Diddy has been accused of paying off Kalenna Harper to corroborate his claims. During a recent prison sweep, federal prosecutors claimed to have found a missive in Sean Combs’ cell, per AllHipHop. The note in question allegedly reveals that the disgraced mogul paid Kalenna Harper, a woman who is marked as a key witness in Combs’ sprawling case, an undisclosed sum of money to make a public statement denying allegations from their former Dirty Money bandmate, Dawn Richards.
Prosecutors believe that “Witness-2,” Harper, reconnected with the artist after they were both mentioned in Dawn’s lawsuit, which was filed on Sept. 10. Prosecutors claimed that Combs had managed to get in touch with Harper regarding Dawn’s suit, resulting in the singer uploading a Story to Instagram on Sept. 13. That post in question found Harper outright denying Richards’ lawsuit claims that Diddy subjected them to abuse.
“I, acknowledge the recent lawsuit filed by Dawn Richards in which my name has been mentioned 33 times,” Harper typed on IG at the time. “While I fully respect Dawn’s right to recount her experiences, l want to emphasize that her account reflects her personal perspective and should not be interpreted as a universal truth.”
“It’s important to understand that while I was present in some of the same professional settings mentioned, many of the allegations and incidents described in this suit are not representative of my experience,” she added.
However, court filings from the feds claim Kalenna Harper’s statement was nothing more than a PR stunt orchestrated and funded by Diddy. The outlet reports that Combs’ contact with Harper increased in the days between Dawn Richards’ lawsuit and Kalenna making her public statement.
Government officials stated that Harper and Combs allegedly made 128 calls during this period. The authorities claimed that, between the note found in Diddy’s cell and the phone calls to Harper, they believe that Sean Combs paid Kalenna for her public statement.
Sean Combs is set to appear for his next court date on Friday (Nov. 22), when the artist is expected to file a fifth motion for bond. The disgraced mogul is hoping to finally be released from the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
Combs’ trial is set for May 2025.
