As reported by NBC News, the five civil lawsuits were filed on Sunday, Oct. 20 in the Southern District of New York by attorney Tony Buzbee. The plaintiffs are not named in the lawsuits, but they each detail alleged sexual assault incidents between 2000 to 2022. Two of the lawsuits were filed on behalf of men, while the other three were filed on behalf of three women including one who said that she was 13 years old at the time of the alleged incident.
The lawsuit filed for the woman who was 13 years old at the time of the detailed incident — which she said happened at a MTV VMAs afterparty on September 7, 2000 — claims that several other celebrities were present and participated in the alleged assault.
"Looking for a place to rest, Plaintiff entered what she believed to be an empty bedroom so she could lie down for a moment," reads the suit from a Jane Doe, now approximately 37. She said that she felt "woozy and lightheaded" after having one drink at the party.
"Soon after, Combs, along with a male and female celebrity, entered the room," the suit continues, per Deadline. "Combs aggressively approached Plaintiff with a crazed look in his eyes, grabbed her, and said, ‘You are ready to party!' Combs then threw Plaintiff toward another male celebrity, Celebrity A, who removed Plaintiff’s clothes as she grew more and more disoriented. ... Plaintiff was held down by Celebrity A who vaginally raped her while Combs and Celebrity B, a female, watched. After the male celebrity finished, Combs then vaginally raped Plaintiff while the Celebrity A and Celebrity B watched."
The plaintiff said that she fell into "a deep depression" following the incident.
"We will let the allegations in the filed complaints speak for themselves, and will work to see that justice is done," said Buzbee, who filed six other lawsuits on behalf of plaintiffs last week. "We expect to be filing cases weekly naming Mr. Combs and others as defendants as we continue to gather evidence and prepare the filings."
Diddy is currently behind bars ahead of his racketeering and trafficking trial, which is scheduled to kick off in May next year. He has denied all of the accusations against him. His legal team is currently seeking to have his anonymous accusers identified in the federal case against him.
