The Los Angeles Dodgers drafted Gavin Lux in the first round of the 2016 draft, and developed him into their starting second baseman. On a team full of high-priced stars, the Wisconsin native was a rare homegrown talent.
Now, after helping the Dodgers win the eighth championship in franchise history, Lux is on his way out.
According to multiple reports Monday, the Dodgers are finalizing a trade that would send Lux to the Cincinnati Reds. Jeff Passan of ESPN was the first to report the news on Twitter/X.
Lux, 27, slashed .251/.320/.383 for the Dodgers last season in 139 games. He also added six hits in 34 postseason at-bats (.176), along with five walks, as the Dodgers marched all the way to the World Series.
