Doechii Earns Fans in SZA, Billie Eilish, Hayley Williams and More

Doechii began the new year on a high note with the release of her new “Denial is a River” video.

Superstars like SZA, Billie Eilish, Hayley Williams, and Finneas sang Doechii’s praises. On Jan. 2, Solána took to X to praise her fellow Top Dawg Entertainment artist, writing, “Yea doechii is my favorite artist rn hands down. Fuck the genre.”

Williams seconded the sentiment, reposting SZA’s tweet to her Instagram Story with the note, “Easily.”

Eilish also applauded Doechii on her IG Story, writing, “Doechii is so fire omg.”

And Eilish's brother and longtime collaborator, Finneas, agreed on his IG Story. The songwriter posted a clip of Doechii’s Tiny Desk, captioning it, “In the running for best thing I’ve ever seen.”

Doechii wasted no time dropping off her highly-anticipated “Denial is a River” visual on Jan. 2 from her acclaimed album, Alligator Bites Never Heal. Prior to the video’s launch, Doechii teased the music video with a sitcom-style clip featuring a cast that included Schoolboy Q, Zack Fox, Teezo Touchdown, Earl Sweatshirt, and more.

Alligator Bites Never Heal received a nomination for Best Rap Album at the Grammys, where Doechii is also up for Best New Artist.
