A dog's attempt to get his mom to stop working and play with him left viewers coming to his defense.
Some canines aren't as lucky as Gordon the golden retriever. His owner works at the same doggy day care he attends, which means endless playtime with his mom. Well, that's at least what he thought would happen with take-your-dog-to-work day, but he quickly learned that isn't always the case.
Instead, the November 18 TikTok video posted to the account @goldenngordon, showed what happened when Gordon went to doggy day care with his mom. He was placed in the play area with other dogs his size. His mom, however, didn't follow. She worked in a different section and that immediately didn't sit right with Gordon.
Hurt and confused, Gordon wouldn't let his mom out of sight. He didn't engage in playtime with the other dogs. He was focused on getting his mom back to his side by pulling out his best dramatic performance. He rested his head on the gate that separated him and his owner. With the biggest puppy dog eyes and a frown that took over his face, he stared down his mom, hopeful it would lure her closer.
The caption perfectly encapsulates Gordon's thoughts: "How dare mom not be with me?!"
Gordon's owner had been with him on the floor before, which is why he couldn't quite grasp the separation now. The owner explained in the comment section that he was doing fine by himself, but she came over to get another dog and that's when his separation sadness started.
With over 518,400 views and 63,100 likes on TikTok, Gordon quickly pulled on people's heartstrings. Viewers banded together, calling his mom's actions "the betrayal" and demanding justice for Gordon.
One viewer said: "You need a new mom. Immediately," to which Gordon "responded" that he is taking new applications.
Someone pointed out: "That is the saddest face."
Another added: "He is so sad breaks my heart. I just want to give him a hug."
But don't let the waterworks fool you. His owner went over a little later and made up for the separation with snuggles and endless kisses.
