Week 10 of the 2024 NFL season concludes with a Monday night showdown between the Miami Dolphins and Los Angeles Rams.
The Dolphins, entering the matchup at 2-6, are in desperate need of a win. On the other side of things, the 4-4 Rams will look to continue to surge up the NFC West standings and stay in the hunt for a division title.
Will the Dolphins keep their season alive, or will the Rams extend their winning streak to four games? The staff at Newsweek Sports has their predictions.
Matt Levine: The Dolphins have looked much better since the return of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa but they are fighting for their playoff lives. Miami holds a record of 2-6 entering this game against the Rams. Los Angeles has battled through injuries all year but has put themselves into a fight for a Wild Card spot. Both teams badly need a win but I think the Dolphins do enough to pull out the road victory.
Prediction: Dolphins 24, Rams 20
Noah Camras: The Rams are home favorites against Miami, but with their season on the line, I have the Dolphins going into Los Angeles and getting the much-needed win. Tua Tagovailoa will look sharp, and Tyreek Hill will finally have the breakout game fans have been waiting to see.
Prediction: Dolphins 27, Rams 23
Eva Geitheim: The Rams have momentum going into this game and are trying to keep up with the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers in the division. The Dolphins have played better with Tagovailoa back, but they have yet to become the high-powered offense they were last season.
Prediction: Rams 24, Dolphins 20
Ricardo Sandoval: The Dolphins are slowly starting to get their feet under them, which could spell trouble for the Rams. Although L.A. has a three-game win streak going for them, this could be the week things come together for Miami. Combine that with the fact that the Rams are vulnerable to explosive plays — and the Dolphins thrive off those plays — and this should be an upset win for Miami.
Prediction: Dolphins 27, Rams 21
James Brizuela: Both the Rams and Dolphins are desperate for a win, but the Dolphins more considering they are nearing a place of no return for the postseason. With the Rams getting healthier and playing at home, they could run away with the game. However, Miami has a sneaky good defense that will cause problems for Matthew Stafford. If the Dolphins can stifle the Rams' offense, they will win under the primetime lights.
Prediction: Dolphins 28, Rams 24
