DuBose was struck by Calen Bullock in a helmet-to-helmet hit that left DuBose on the field. Training and medical staff ran onto the field and began to attend to the receiver. The situation appeared to be dire, as DuBose had to have his facemask unscrewed and his jersey cut off to administer aid.

The hit resulted in DuBose having to be stretchered off the field, and taken to a local hospital. The Dolphins receiver was treated and returned back home to Miami. Now, he has broken his silence and revealed some horrific details about the event.

DuBose spoke to reporters about the hit, revealing he has not quite recovered from the "severe concussion" he received. Sun Sentinel reporter Chris Perkins revealed DuBose's comments in a new report.

"It's really just a day-to-day thing," he said. "Am I at 100 percent? No, I'm not. But am I better than what I was? Yeah, a lot better."

DuBose reveals that he is getting better, but not at the 100 percent level he wishes to be at. Even scarier is he revealed he did not remember the hit and woke up at the hospital after being "induced into a coma."

"I woke up in the hospital the next morning, that Monday morning," he said. "I got induced into a coma and I woke up the next morning and I had all my loved ones, my family was around me."

"When my brother told me what happened and he showed me the video, it started to kind of come back and I can remember Tua going into a throwing motion, but everything that's out there is kind of black. So yeah, that's the crazy part about it. I went through it, but everybody else had a different experience."

DuBose also revealed despite the hit leading to a scary situation, he will not be "scared" to catch a pass over the middle of the field again.

"You can't play with fear, you know what I mean?" he said. "That's where injuries and those types of things happen. But you can't really play with fear. So I trust the processes I'm going through."

Thankfully, DuBose was able to walk away from the hit without suffering any long-term damage. He is likely to still play in the league, presumably with the Dolphins in 2025.
