When President-elect Donald Trump is officially sworn into office later today, he will do so before and after a host of musicians perform in celebration of the ceremony, including Rascal Flatts and Carrie Underwood.
As with previous inaugural ceremonies, the event will feature a slew of performers. In the days leading up to the high-profile ceremony, the Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee confirmed a number of these acts.
"The 60th Inauguration will herald President Trump's triumphant return to the White House and the start of the great American comeback," the Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee co-chairs, Steve Witkoff and Kelly Loeffler, said in a joint statement.
They added: "These special events will honor the rich history and tradition of our great nation, the American people, and the promise our country holds for future generations. We look forward to celebrating with all of you in Washington, D.C.—and ushering in a new golden era of strength, success and common sense in the Oval Office."
Newsweek has compiled a list of the performers who will take the stage across various events in Washington, D.C.
Carrie Underwood
Carrie Underwood will perform "America the Beautiful" on the steps of the U.S. Capitol at Trump's swearing-in ceremony.
In a previous statement to Newsweek, the American Idol alum said, "I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event. I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future."
She will be accompanied by the Armed Forces Chorus and the United States Naval Academy Glee Club.
Christopher Macchio
Opera singer Christopher Macchio will perform the national anthem at the inauguration ceremony.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, he wrote on Monday: "It is with deep humility and gratitude that I have accepted...President Donald J. Trump's gracious invitation to perform our National Anthem at the Inauguration of our 47th President. In opening and closing this magnificent ceremony with music that celebrates our nation, I hope to contribute to restoring the spirit of unity, strength, and love of country, that will help Make America Great Again."
In the leadup to November's election, Macchio performed at Trump's rally at New York City's Madison Square Garden in October.
Lee Greenwood
Also scheduled for the ceremony is country singer Lee Greenwood, who will perform his iconic song "God Bless the U.S.A." during the event, accompanied by the United States Marine Corps band.
He performed the song at Trump's previous inauguration in 2017. "God Bless the U.S.A." has become a patriotic anthem associated with Trump's campaign and presidency.
Speaking about his upcoming performance, Greenwood recently told Newsweek: "My song is a tribute to the culture of America, Black, white, red, yellow, economic standards. It is about an American, whoever we are as Americans. If they embrace my song as their song, it makes me proud."
Greenwood will also be a part of Trump's rally in D.C. on the eve of the inauguration.
"There's like four other galas that I'll be performing at and attending. Two or three of them will be with the president in attendance," Greenwood said. "I probably will sing at some of those I don't know which ones yet. That's up to the Trump team."
Rascal Flatts
Country music band Rascal Flatts is also part of the lineup of performers, with an appearance confirmed for Monday's Commander-in-Chief Ball.
The event, which will take place after the ceremony, is one of three official inaugural balls set to take place. There are also several unofficial balls and inauguration events taking place in and around D.C. over the weekend.
Gavin DeGraw
Singer-songwriter Gavin DeGraw—who is perhaps best known for his hit "I Don't Want to Be," which served as theme song for One Tree Hill—will headline at the Starlight Ball.
As with the other official inaugural balls, Trump is expected make an appearance.
Village People
Disco group Village People will be on hand to perform ahead of the inauguration at the Make America Great Again Victory Rally, to be held on Sunday at D.C.'s Capital One Arena.
On the day of the inauguration, the singers will perform post-ceremony at the Liberty Inaugural Ball.
Over the years, Trump has been known to play the group's enduring 1978 hit "Y.M.C.A." at his political rallies. Victor Willis, the Village People's lead singer and sole remaining original member, previously voiced objection to Trump using the group's music, and a cease-and-desist letter was sent to his campaign in May 2023.
After accepting an invitation to perform at Trump's inaugural celebrations, the group faced a furious backlash across social media.
A spokesperson for Village People told Newsweek that the reaction was "the same response Village People received once it was announced that Victor Willis allowed Trump's continued use of 'YMCA.' Therefore, it's simply a repeat of the same response received already for allowing Trump's continued use of 'YMCA.'"
The representative added that the response was "nothing new and was expected once it was announced that Village People would perform during the inauguration. However, the group believes that music should be performed without regard to politics and that performing at the inauguration is a way to help bring the country together."
Jason Aldean
Country music star Jason Aldean counts himself among the performers who have signed up for Monday's Liberty Inaugural Ball.
Aldean won the support of Trump when his track and its accompanying video, "Try That in a Small Town," sparked public debate in 2023.
Amid accusations that the lyrics and imagery promoted racism and gun violence, Trump publicly expressed his support for Aldean's "great new song" on social media. The track was played at a Trump rally in Erie, Pennsylvania, that year.
Other Performers
Singer-songwriter Parker McCollum will take the stage at the Commander-in-Chief Ball on Monday.
