Donald Trump to Address Supporters as Kamala Harris Calls It a Night

2 months ago 6

Former President Donald Trump is preparing to speak to supporters at an election watch party, but his opponent, Vice President Kamala, will not address the crowd gathered at her campaign headquarters.

Harris campaign co-chair Cedric Richmond announced just before 1 a.m. ET that the Democratic nominee would not speak at Howard University (HU) as previously anticipated.

"We still have votes to count. We still have states that have not been called yet. We will continue overnight to fight to make sure that every vote is counted, that every voice has spoke," Richmond told those who had gathered at Harris' alma mater on Tuesday. "So, you won't hear from the vice president tonight, but you will hear from her tomorrow. She will be back here tomorrow to address not only the HU family, not only to address her supporters but to address the nation."

The update came just after the networks called Georgia, one of the seven key battleground states, for Trump. The former president was also declared the winner of North Carolina earlier in the evening. With 246 electoral votes as of 1 a.m. ET, Trump still needs 24 electoral votes to clinch the presidency. Harris has 187 electoral votes at this time.

Shortly after Georgia was called, Trump departed Mar-a-Lago to address his supporters at the Palm Beach County Convention Center.
