Names have even been dropped as to who the internet believes deserves the title more, including Gisèle Pélicot.

Pélicot is a French woman who purportedly discovered her husband of 50 years had allegedly been secretly drugging her and filming men having sex with her while she sedated. These events spanned about a decade, and now she's bringing her husband and his 50 codefendants to court. 

This trial is shining "a light on rape culture in France," reports say. 

When explaining why she wanted to bring this trial to the public, she said: “I wanted all woman victims of rape … to say: ‘Mrs Pelicot did it, we can do it too.’ When you’re raped there is shame, and it’s not for us to have shame, it’s for them."
