Dow Jones Surges 1,500 Points After Trump Wins Election

U.S. stocks on Wednesday reached record levels with investors reacting to the news that President-elect Donald Trump won Tuesday's election.

The S&P increased 2.5 percent for its best day in almost two years, while the Dow Jones surged 1,500 points. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq composite gained 3 percent.

While big bank stocks led the market higher, Bitcoin also soared to a new record.

The U.S. dollar also increased against other currencies.
