People are constantly on the hunt for effective weight loss methods - from trying out various diets to engaging in intense workouts.

However, health experts suggest incorporating a simple three-ingredient smoothie into your diet could be a game-changer. The simple drink is said to help you shed up to seven kilos in a week, which is equivalent to approximately one stone.

Consuming a glass daily could also assist in achieving a flat stomach, and it's incredibly easy to prepare. According to @toprecipes.1 on TikTok, two chopped carrots are required for this recipe.

Blend them with half-a-litre of water for a few minutes, then strain the mixture. After removing the pulp, peel and chop a piece of ginger and wash and chop a lemon to add to the mix.

Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Just remember to strain the juice before drinking.

For optimal results, it's recommended to consume one to two glasses of the smoothie daily, alongside maintaining a balanced diet and regular exercise.

The video has already garnered over 8,000 views since its upload, with many viewers expressing their eagerness to try the recipe.

One user said: "Thanks for the info." Another added: "Thank you. I add a pinch of turmeric powder too."

A third wrote: "Thank you, I will try it." Meanwhile, a fourth simply commented: "Awesome."

If you're sceptical about the recipe's weight loss claims, it's worth noting the ingredients can indeed aid those on a slimming journey. Carrots, being low in calories and high in fibre, can help you feel satiated and consume less.

Some research also hints at ginger's potential role in weight loss, although further studies are required. This spice is believed to boost metabolism and curb appetite.

While there's little evidence to suggest that lemons alone can facilitate weight loss, they are a rich source of Vitamin C, beneficial for the immune system and promoting healthy skin.

How many calories should I consume a day?

The NHS advises our bodies require energy from calories to function optimally. To maintain your weight, your calorie intake should match the amount your body burns. Any surplus or deficit could lead to weight gain or loss.

It suggests 2,500 calories for an average man and 2,000 for an average woman. However, these are rough estimates and can vary based on factors like age, weight, height and physical activity levels.

Always consider these aspects and seek professional advice before making significant changes to your diet.
