US reality show Duck Dynasty is returning to screens after eight years with a new series later this year, so Daily Star has looked at what happened to the family
The Duck Dynasty family lives on.
The US reality show aired on A&E between 2012 and 2017 and followed the the Robertson family, who became rich by making products for duck hunters. Viewers got to know the likes of Phil and Kay Robertson, their sons - Jase, Jep and Willie - and their grandchildren.
It seems we're in the season of reboots - it's been announced Adam Sandler's nineties hit Happy Gilmore is getting a sequel. And a Harry Potter HBO TV series is reportedly underway and due to air next year.
Duck Dynasty, which at one point was pulling in over 11 million viewers, came to an end in 2017 after five years and 11 seasons. However, it's since been revealed that the show is returning to screens after eight years off the air.
The new series, titled Duck Dynasty: The Revival, will air this summer with 20 one-hour episodes. It's due to follow Willie, wife Korie and "their growing family of adult children and grandchildren, the next generation of Robertsons living on the family homestead in Louisiana".
The reboot will also feature the likes of Uncle Si Robertson and Miss Kay Robertson as well as Willie and Korie's kids John Luke, Sadie, Will Jr. Bella and Rebecca. Daily Star has taken a look at what happened to the famous family.
Phil Robertson
It's unknown if Phil, the family patriarch, will appear in the reboot. He's the founder and president of Duck Commander, the family business, which he started in 1972.
In December, it was revealed the 78-year-old been diagnosed with the early stages of Alzheimer's disease. His son Jase announced the diagnosis, explaining he had been in poor health due to the disease and that his condition had been deteriorating.
He wrote: "We’re trying to do a lot of things to figure out how to make him more comfortable and maybe help with his memory". Phil thanked fans for their support.
In 2014, Phil was briefly suspended by A&E after making homophobic and racially insensitive comments in a controversial GQ interview. The network reversed their decision nine days later.
Kay Robertson
Kay was just 17 when she married Phil, after she became pregnant with their first son, Alan. It's clear she shares Phil's business brain as she opened up her own bakery, Miss Kay's Sweets and Eats, in 2016.
She worked at the bakery with Alan and his daughter, Alex, but the bakery closed down in 2020. Disaster struck the following year as it was reported by TMZ that Kay's dog Bobo attacked her.
Phil later revealed she had to be rushed to hospital after Bobo bit her top and bottom lip. He explained she had scared him while he was sleeping. He said: "After she told the story, she reminded me it wasn't his fault. He was startled".
Silas Merritt "Si" Robertson
Uncle Si, Phil's brother, served in the US Army during the Vietnam War before joining the Duck Dynasty. In 2016, he bagged his own spin-off show on A&E called Going Si-Ral.
He had to go in for surgery on his lungs in September 2022 after struggling to breathe. He said this was due to smoking, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and complications from Covid.
Luckily, the surgery was a success. He told followers on Instagram: "The doc says surgery went great. I'm ready to get back at it, Jack!".
Willie Robertson
Willie, the CEO of Duck Commander since 2002, played a key role in turning his family's business into a multimillion-dollar empire. He's also tried his hand at singing as in 2021 he popped up on season six of The Masked Singer US, where he was revealed as Mallard.
He and wife Korie appear on every series of Duck Dynasty with their children; Will Jr, John Luke, Sadie, Bella, Rebecca and Rowdy. The proud parents also have their Facebook Watch series At Home with the Robertsons.
But it seems Willie has a fondness for music. He and Korrie produced the Christian musical, His Story: The Musical, a pop musical based on the life of Jesus.
Korie Robertson
Korie, Willie's wife, became office manager at Duck Commander. She is also New York Times best-selling author who has written and co-written a whopping 10 books.
She revealed her joy at watching daughter Sadie become a mum. Gushing over the little on on Instagram, she wrote: "he experience of watching your daughter give birth to her daughter...well, there are no words. Honey James Huff you are a little miracle! We love you dearly and can't get enough of every single detail of you"
John Luke Robertson
John Luke Robertson, Willie and Korie's eldest son, was just a teen when Duck Dynasty first aired, but now he's all grown up and, like mum Korie, an author. He's also a dad - he and wife Mary Kate tied the knot in 2015 and in 2019, welcomed their first son John Shepherd.
They later welcomed their daughter Ella Kathryn in April 2021, and two years after that they had their third child, Wells Robertson. When he's not helping Mary Kate with the three kids, he's a camp director for Camp C-Yo-Ca and a coffee roaster for King Lane's Coffee.
Sadie Carroway Robertson Huff
Sadie, Willie and Korie's daughter has showed off her singing and dancing skills outside of the show. She wowed fans with her dancing moves on season 19 of Dancing with the Stars and recorded a duet with Grammy-winner Alison Krauss for the Duck Dynasty Christmas album.
Sadie and husband Christian Huff got marrid in 2019 and have since welcomed two children; daughters Honey James Huff and Haven Belle Huff. And we've got another author, because she's written several books.
Jason Silas "Jase" Robertson
Jase, Phil and Kay's second son, has appeared on the podcast Unashamed with the Robertson Family, alongside Phil and brother Alan. He also landed another reality TV job on Duck Family treasure.
The reality star has also created the Logtown Estate in Louisiana with wife Missy. They turned a 19th century building into a wedding and event venue and run a bed and breakfast there together.
Jase and Missy share three children; sons Reed and Cole, and daughter Mia. The couple also adopted the child of a woman whom Jase had baptized as she gave birth while in prison.
Melissa "Missy" Robertson
Missy is a published author, having co-written her Princess in Camo book series with daughter Mia. She helped Jase renovate the Logtown Estate.
Missy, who married Jase when she was 19, also appeared alongside her husband in several episodes of the spin-off Duck Family Treasure. She is also a blogger who has her own jewellery line.
