Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has a raw and emotional message for fans – specifically his male audience.
In an Instagram video posted on Thursday, January 16, the wrestler-turned-actorurged men not to wait too long to repair fractured relationships with their fathers, like he unfortunately experienced first hand after his father Rocky "Soulman" Johnson's death in 2020.
Dwayne, 52, gave viewers an honest glimpse into the difficult relationship he had with his father, confessing that the lingering regret of not being able to reconcile with his dad continues to affect him. He explained that he and his father were not in a good place when Soulman passed away, and their relationship was marked by a major fight on Christmas Eve just three weeks before his death.
"It was not good... and we never reconciled, and I regret that," the Jungle Cruise actor said.
"And now that he's gone, I never had that chance to say goodbye, never had the chance to reconcile. I just wish, man, that I could hug him one more time, and kiss him on the cheek and look him in the eyes and say, 'We're good. We're good,'" Dwayne lamented.
The actor continued to share the importance of understanding each other's complicated sides in an effort to find peace. He then doubled-down to his male followers, urging them to patch things up with their dads while they're still around.
"What I wanna tell you guys out there, if you still got your dad around, heal that. And reconcile that. Because you don't want to be in a position like me, where sh**t's f**ked up, you know you want to talk about it, it's uncomfortable ... but take that leap."
Fans received Dwayne's message with open arms, letting him know their thoughts in the comments of the post.
"Thoughts are with you on this day as you remember your dad. Every word you said is absolutely spot on," one fan shared, while another commented, "👊🏾 you never know how much u can miss a person until they're gone. I Think about my old man everyday."
Others let The Rock know that they're putting his message into action. "RIP The Soulman 🙏🏽Calling my old man ❤️," one person said, while a fourth fan noted, "I'm calling my daddy much love ❤️."
Rocky, who was a legendary wrestler himself, passed away at the age of 75 on January 15, 2020.
