"DWTS" Alum Lindsay Arnold Has Crafted the Perfect 10-Minute Pilates Core Workout

3 weeks ago 5

Known for her thrilling, energetic performances on "Dancing with the Stars", alumni Lindsay Arnold is no stranger to staying active. Fans of her 30-minute dance circuit workout will love this core-focused session.

This new PS Fit workout from Arnold is tailored for both beginners and those seeking an additional core challenge. All of the exercises shown in this group fitness class are completely bodyweight movements, no additional weight is required. All you'll need is a small space and a mat to get started (our editors recommend the Stakt mat, if you're on the hunt!). On the right side of the screen, assistant Leilani Terris demonstrates several prenatal and postnatal friendly modifications throughout the class. On the left, assistant Paris Nicole shows how to do the movements full-out, with Arnold.

This class starts with a guided warm up, focusing on how to engage the core. Arnold guides the class with exercise cues, including timing of the breath — inhalations and exhalations — and reminders of safe exercise technique during the session. Next, the workout begins with a series of glute bridges into toe taps, followed by alternating toe taps from a tabletop position. "Feel the good burn and keep it up!" Arnold says, encouraging the class.

Then, the class transitions to performing alternating deadbugs, and hip and knee openers from a tabletop position. And to finish out strong: a series of opposing knee-to-shoulder movements from a high plank position and hip dip lowers from a side plank position. Terris continues modifications throughout offering both prenatal and postnatal options. But TBH, all versions offer a worthwhile challenge.

"I love a workout on the mat that gets you fully sweaty and fully shaky. Like, it's chill, but it's not chill at all," Arnold says with a smile. "It's going to feel so worth it, the satisfaction of crushing this workout."

To finish things off, Arnold takes the class through a simple cool down with a short, guided stretching sequence, including cobra pose into child's pose to release any tension being held.
