DWTS Fans Sending Prayers to Derek Hough, Hayley Erbert After Terrifying Update

Longtime “Dancing With the Stars” cast member Derek Hough and his wife, Hayley Erbert, are ready to evacuate their home. The couple has been monitoring the wildfires in California and have taken some precautions in case they need to leave.

“The winds are hitting 100mph, and we’re packing up, preparing to evacuate with our five animals if needed,” Hough shared in a Facebook update on January 7.

“It’s scary with power lines exploding around us and the fires spreading so fast. Thank you to the incredible firefighters risking everything to keep us safe. Sending all our prayers and love to the firefighters and everyone affected by the fires near us. Please, everyone, stay safe, stay smart, and look out for each other,” he added.

Hough and Erbert recently wrapped their holiday tour, “Dance for the Holidays.”


Fans Reacted to Derek Hough’s Post & Sent Their Prayers & Well Wishes

Dozens of people commented on Hough’s post and many fans encouraged he and Erbert to evacuate.

“Please stay safe and evacuate with your pets asap. I pray for everyone in the line of fire right now. We lost our home in Lahaina and know how serious and scary fires can be. Thank you to the firefighters and emergency crews out there,” one Facebook user wrote.

“Leave ASAP!! I lived on Maui . Seen it happen . Please leave now , before it too late and can’t get out! Prayers for everyone’s safety as well as the firefighters that are putting their lives at stake!! Maui lost a lot of lives !!! Don’t want to see this happen out there!!! God Bless you all and be safe,” someone else cautioned.

“Been praying for everyone. Glad you are taking precautions and hope you have evacuated. Horrible for everyone and hope they have enough firefighters to give them a break as well,” a third comment read.


Sharna Burgess Also Posted About the California Wildfires & Said She & Her Family Are ‘Safe’

Ballroom pro Sharna Burgess and her fiance Brian Austin Green are also closely monitoring the California wildfires.

“Like everyone we are glued to the palisades fire coverage right now and our hearts are breaking for all those that have lost their homes or been evacuated,” Burgess wrote on her Instagram Stories on January 7, 2025.

“We are all safe and thank you for checking on us. We are praying for everyone out there, especially our incredible fire fighters doing everything they can against all the odds,” she added.

Burgess and Green spent the past few days on vacation in Jamaica but were scheduled to head back to California — and their kids — soon.
