EXCLUSIVE: Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford are set to spend their first Christmas apart following their split, and an expert has warned the festive period could be "challenging" for all
Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford could still have a merry Christmas despite their "significant" change, by putting their 22-year-old son Jack first, an expert has cautioned.
The duo, who once graced our screens on This Morning, are amidst divorce proceedings after a 14-year marriage.
Amidst whispers that the pair are now communicating solely through solicitors, Chloe Moreau from ExpertsEnRencontres reckons their altered festive season might just "pave the way for a new sense of balance".
"Spending the holidays apart, especially after 20 years together, is bound to bring up emotions for both Ruth and Eamonn," she said.
"For their son, Jack, this will also be a significant adjustment, as he navigates the reality of having his parents in separate households during such a family-centric time," reports the Mirror.
Chloe advises that to maintain a sense of "connectedness", they should consider "small but meaningful gestures, like establishing new traditions or creating special moments individually" with Jack.
The relationship guru further stresses the importance of open communication and reassurance during this transition.
"Although challenging, this Christmas could be an opportunity for Ruth, Eamonn, and Jack to redefine what the holiday season means to them," she added.
"With mutual respect and a focus on Jack's happiness, this period can highlight their shared commitment as a family, even if the structure of that family has changed."
By prioritising Jack's well-being, Ruth believes it will "demonstrate resilience and love" and ultimately lead to a "meaningful time for everyone".
Following their split, Ruth appears to have remained single, whereas Eamonn has begun a new romance with Katie Alexander.
Recent speculation hinted that the new couple might already be engaged after Katie was seen sporting a diamond ring on her wedding finger.
However, a friend of Eamonn's swiftly dismissed the rumours, telling The Daily Mail that although they are "very serious about each other", they are "definitely not engaged".
A separate source claims Eamonn and Ruth are striving to "resolve their divorce as quickly as possible in the new year", with Ruth keen to remain in their marital home where she feels settled, while Eamonn is eager to start anew.
