Elton John has disclosed which foods he has had to cut out of his life due to ongoing health issues. The iconic British singer sat down during an episode of Ruthie’s Table 4 podcast to talk about his memories of food.

Joined by his husband David Furnish, Elton confessed that he craves 'sugar' and 'all things that aren't good for him.' He also explained that he's cut out sugar from his diet in order for his blood sugar not to shoot up.

"I like all sorts of things that aren't good for me. Fried chicken, donuts. If I had a death row meal, it wouldn't contain anything except sweets, because I can't eat them now. So, I'd have ice cream, donuts, apple pie, rhubarb crumble, blah, blah, blah," he admitted.

He also added that he hasn't had sugar for a long time: "I can have an apple, I can eat a bit of melon. As long as you're sensible about it, it doesn't shoot your blood sugar up. But what I crave is chocolate and ice cream, I can't have any ice cream."

Elton also said that he can eat sugar free chocolate and ordered some from Italy.

Earlier this year, eBay has announced that Elton John is bringing his legendary wardrobe to eBay for Pride Month. The “Rocket Man Resale” featured hundreds of items from Elton’s closet.

Fans got a once-in-a-lifetime chance to own a piece of fashion history as the re-sale included bespoke Gucci jackets, Versace robes and customised Prada loafers.

Speaking about the re-sale, Elton shared: "Giving new life to the cherished items from my wardrobe has always been special to me. For decades I’ve donated my closet’s treasures to support the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

"This Pride Month, I'm excited to share my Atlanta treasure trove on eBay, hoping these items will inspire you to express your unique spirit and bring you as much joy as they've brought me.

"Whether you're after high-end luxury or something more laid-back, there's a perfect find for everyone. Even better, every pound goes to supporting the Elton John AIDS Foundation’s work to end LGBTQ+ stigma."

Ruthie’s Table 4 podcast invites a range of notable guests to take a seat at the iconic River Café and have a conversation about their memories of food.
