Emmerdale viewers are convinced they have worked out how Ruby Fox-Miligan will kill her abusive dad Anthony - as the dark storyline continues to unfold on the ITV soap
Emmerdale has hinted at the shocking way Ruby Fox-Miligan will kill her abusive father, Anthony.
Last month, Ruby's (played by Beth Cordingly) life was thrown into chaos when her estranged father Anthony (Nicholas Day) arrived in the Dales, following the unexpected appearance of her daughter Steph (Georgia Jay).
As Anthony made himself at home, Ruby began to unravel, clearly hiding a dark secret about her father. Despite her reservations, she agreed to let Anthony remain in their lives to keep Steph close.
Steph was hopeful that the Miligan-Fox family could mend their broken bonds, especially given Anthony's cancer diagnosis. However, Ruby's turmoil led her to cheat on Caleb (William Ash) with his half-brother Cain (Jeff Hordley).
It was later revealed that Anthony had sexually abused Ruby during her childhood. Furthermore, it was heavily suggested that Anthony might be Steph's biological father.
This week in the Dales, Anthony was invited to Christmas lunch at Ruby and Caleb's house. To avoid spending time alone with Anthony, Ruby asked Chas and her family to join them, while Caleb invited Cain and the Dingles, reports Leeds Live.
During the festive meal, Ruby was appalled to see Anthony getting along with everyone and was further distressed when he announced his plans to stay in the village indefinitely.
Dinner wrapped up and the gang moved to the pub for more cheer, everyone but Ruby and Anthony. Then it got proper edgy when Anthony laid a hand on Ruby's shoulder.
She was having none of it, snatching a kitchen knife and telling him to do one - but then Cain strolled in. Fans are now buzzing about a massive 'hint' the show's planted about how Ruby might bump off Anthony.
An Emmerdale Facebook group had fans all gabbing away. One posted: "Ruby's dad really inserting himself into everything. Wonder if he'll get close to her and Ruby will stab him and she'll seem vindictive?"
Another was well up for it, saying: "I wanted her to stab him! " Someone else chimed in with: "Maybe she will." And backing that up, another commented: "I was thinking this. Only way I can see him leaving is by being killed."
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
