Daisy Campbell admits she feels "really sad" as Emmerdale's Amelia Spencer's exit storyline has been revealed.

The actress revealed back in October that soap bosses had written her out of the ITV soap after 13 years of playing Amelia.

Announcing the news, Daisy explained at the time that it was daunting news to hear her contract wasn't being renewed and it wasn't her decision to leave.

She said at the time: "It wasn’t my choice to leave Emmerdale and it was a shock at first. Being in Emmerdale is all I have ever known. I’ve spent the whole of my childhood growing up in the soap and it felt daunting."

Amelia's final scenes will air later this month as her exit storyline has now been revealed.

In next week's Emmerdale, Amelia will come to the conclusion that she wats to leave the village.

It is not yet known where the long-running character will be moving to, but Amy will throw her a party to mark her departure.

Amelia is gutted when Kerry doesn't turn up to the gathering. As she says her final goodbyes in emotiona scenes, will Kerry really let her leave without saying farewell?

Speaking to press after filming her final scenes, soap star Daisy admitted she felt really sad wrapping up on the show.

She said: "It feels really sad. It's mixed emotions really I think. It’s been such a tough year, and I've had to deal with so much, but I was so at peace when leaving because I've grieved through… because I'm not only grieving for myself, it's a character that I've always played, this is my first ever job from being seven, so it felt really sad, but then it was nice to close the door and be at peace, because I've just allowed it to play out as it has this year.

"But yeah, it's really upsetting, because it's all I've ever known, but I mean new things and maybe new parts next year. Who knows? But yeah, it's been sad. It's been really sad."

Amelia's final scenes will play out from Monday December 16.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1 and Virgin Media One.
