Michael Parr is back on Emmerdale playing everyone’s favourite bad boy Ross Barton.
The soap star made his debut in Emmerdale back in 2013 and remained on the show for five years before he departed.
He has now returned in a surprising twist of events, however, the actor’s life is very different away from the show.

When Michael left Emmerdale in 2018, he had been dating his co-star Isabel Hodgins, who plays Victoria Sugden. The pair kept their romance a secret, but went Instagram official in July 2016.
They remained together for three years before going their separate ways in 2019.
Now Isabel is engaged to her partner Adam Whitehead, who proposed in November 2023, and Michael also has a new partner.
He is in a relationship with Isabelle Du Plessis. Michael shared a snap of them together in July enjoying a holiday in Santorini, Greece.
While he is back on the Yorkshire soap, Michael has spent part of the past few years working in America. It’s not such a reach for him as he holds dual U.S. and British nationality allowing him to work there without needing a visa.
One of his favourite places in the country is New York, which is where his mum’s side of the family are originally from - and he still has close relatives there today.
His girlfriend Isabelle also has a close connection to New York as she emigrated there. She has shared her adventures in the Big Apple on social media, before returning back to England earlier this year.
Michael previously spoke about his love of America and how he likes to return there regularly.
“My family are from Brooklyn Heights,” he said during an appearance on Lorraine. “My grandad fought in Vietnam and came over to the UK and was based in Warrington in Burtonwood. He met my lovely nan and they moved back to America. Because he was in the Air Force, they had to move around to the different bases.
“My mum was born in Oregon, my auntie was born in Mississippi, they lived in Montana, they lived in Germany and they decided to move back to sunny St Helens.”
“I try to go to New York every summer,” he shared. “I’ve got an uncle who lives there. New York is so much fun. It’s the most famous movie character.”
