Emmerdale fans were in for a shock during the hour-long episode, as Jacob began his first day at A&E, but one eagle-eyed fan was left stunned when they spotted a accidental trip-up
A big blunder has been spotted by Emmerdale fans in a thrilling episode.
The ITV soap has been ramping up the tension in recent weeks, with a number of new storylines hitting our screens - such as April Windsor's disappearance. As well as this, fans have been speculating about who will kill Leyla Harding after her exit was confirmed earlier this year.
But while Leyla's future continues to hang in the balance, son Jacob is starting a new life for himself in a recent episode of the soap. In the hour-long episode, which aired on Thursday (January 2), the instalment featured a number of characters as they all raced to Hotten General Hospital.
Among these was Jacob Gallagher, played by Joe-Warren Plant, who started his first day on the job as working on placement for hist first shift as a doctor. However, it was not long before the stress of the job began to take its toll, with everything going wrong soon after.
But before things started to head south, Jacob had been all smiles as he shared a glowing selfie that he uploaded to his social media. Taking the moniker of Dr. Gallagher, residents of the village were thrilled to see Jacob come leaps and bounds, working hard to help those in need.
One resident who was particularly interested in Jacob's good nature was Moira Dingle, played by Natalie J Robb, who had been sat in the waiting room for her consultations amid her ongoing brain tumour storyline. After spotting Jacob in the corridors of the ward, she wasted no time in snooping on Jacob's social media, showing any updates with bad boy hubby Cain.
But while the pair dug deep into Jacob's posts, one user spotted a bewildering blunder. In the profile photo, which was uploaded to a dummy Facebook account, it was revealed she had actually logged into Jacob's account in the hilariously awkward cock-up.
Whilst looking at the snap, producers gave away a big secret that showed she was logged into Jacob's account. At the top of her phone, Jacob's profile picture had been spotted, together with the status bar asking: "What's on your mind?" - a tribute to an older version of the social media platform.
One fan in particular was quick to point out the glaring problem, as they raced to their social media to vent their frustrations. "She liked his new photo so much, she made it her profile picture," they sarcastically penned.
Later in the episode, Moira found Jacob to let him know she had likes his photo in a touching moment between the two. However, the cute interaction came at a bad time for Jacob, who was hit with a number of new experiences during his first doctor's shift.
One moment that had Jacob seething was after seeing his love, Sarah Sugden, being rushed into hospital after having alcohol poisoning - following a huge bottomless brunch. Jacob was not happy, lashing out at her for taking up resources when others had been waiting to be seen for hours.
